Focus on the musky olfactory family
Originally of animal origin, musk is now reproduced by synthetic notes that create this very particular woody animal scent . Musk is highly prized in perfumery: it gives hold to the perfume, helps to better fix the more volatile notes and brings suppleness, softness and sensuality to a composition. White musk is today the most used musk in perfumery in a musk perfume. It rhymes with softness, tenderness and comfort. The musk perfume is composed of cottony, soft, comfortable and enveloping notes .
Smooth, warm and sensual, musk is a must-have for women's and men's perfumes. Musk accompanies all olfactory families and reveals different facets : we will find musk as much in light or solar floral fragrances , associated with rose, jasmine or ylang-ylang (as in the unisex perfume Musc de rêve ), as in more opulent oriental perfumes , combined with amber, woods and vanilla (unisex perfume Escapade en Orient ). Musky notes are base notes, which will mix very well with light floral notes, fruity notes or citrus fruits, which are rather top or heart notes.
Musky perfumes at Margot&Tita
At Margot&Tita, musk reminds us of comforting notes . We associate musk perfume with a "skin perfume" because musky notes remain on the skin, they do not "take off". They remind us of natural odors like the smell of the skin itself, in an almost intimate aspect , such as pheromones. The particularity of musky notes is that they can bring different perceptions such as a feeling of cleanliness, or baby skin. This is the case of the Velours animal scented mist, a feminine and addictive scent that recalls the smell of clean linen.
Musk perfume is the one that goes best with other olfactory families. It is therefore easy to associate them in Mix&Match with a fruity scent ( Dream Musk & We Women ) or with a floral scent ( Dream Musk & Special Partner ) for example.
